Instructional Ideas
  • Before asking pupils to break off into pairs, have them brainstorm and write down a few situations in which they felt the other person wasn't listening
  • Invite pairs to share their final discussions with the class in order to demonstrate active listening skills in action again
Classroom Considerations
  • Since a large part of the lesson depends on student participation in role-playing activities, you'll need to make sure you have willing volunteers and some time for individuals to come up with conflicts to discuss
