- Challenge visual learners to sketch their cells as cities, with the nucleus being city hall, etc.
Classroom Considerations
- Some class members will be much more proficient in programs such as Word and PowerPoint; plan so that all pupils will have adequate time at the computer
- Consider having different activities as stations, so groups can work and switch stations depending upon their progress
- Middle schoolers should ideally be able to view microscope slides to use the labeled drawings of plant and animal cells as evidence that organelles are not always easily apparent
